Chase Foundation Scholars
CEP has been working with the Chase Foundation for several years to bring graduates of Artesia (NM) High School to UNM and providing the support and resources they need to be successful and, ultimately, to graduate. UNM is proud to work with the Chase Foundation and its Scholars. Mack, Marilyn, and members of the Chase family started the Chase Foundation Scholarship Fund in 2007 because they recognized "the need to educate our youth and provide educational opportunities to improve the quality of life for future generations." The funding provided by the Chase Foundation and UNM makes it possible for students to graduate with little to no debt, provided they meet eligibility requirements each semester.
First-year students receive a significant amount of support from a CEP advisor and peer mentors, upper-class students that can help them navigate their new environment and responsibilities as college students. In addition to academic-focused events at the beginning and end of each semester, first-year Chase students participate in community service in Artesia and Albuquerque at least once each semester.
